Connect Your AI Assistant

Buildsy plugs into the AI assistants you already use — Claude, ChatGPT and any other assistant that supports connectors. Once it’s connected, you can update your website by asking: change your hours, add a service, swap a photo. Your assistant reads your pages, makes the edit, and your site is live in seconds.

Setup takes about two minutes and has three steps.

1. Create your key

Your key is what tells your assistant which website is yours. It can only ever reach your own site.

1. Log in to your Buildsy admin.

2. In the left sidebar, under Site, click API keys.

3. Create a new key and give it a name you’ll recognise, like “Claude” or “ChatGPT”.

4. Copy the key straight away and keep it somewhere safe — it’s shown only once. Treat it like a password: anyone who has it can edit your site.

Lost it, or think it leaked? Come back to API keys, delete it, and make a new one. The old one stops working immediately.

2. Add Buildsy to your assistant

You’ll need two things: the Buildsy connector address and the key you just made.

In Claude (claude.ai or the Claude app): open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it Buildsy, paste the address, and paste your key when asked.

In ChatGPT: open Settings → Connectors, choose Create, name it Buildsy, paste the address, and paste your key when asked.

Somewhere else (Cursor, or any assistant with an MCP or “connectors” setting): add a new connector with the same address and key.

Menus move around as these apps update. If you can’t find the option, look for “Connectors”, “Integrations” or “MCP” in your assistant’s settings, or reply to any Buildsy email and we’ll walk you through it.

3. Say what you want changed

Ask in plain English. A few things that work well:

• “Add a fall gutter-cleaning special to our services.”

• “Update our hours for the holidays — closed the 24th and 25th.”

• “Swap the photo on the About page for the new one I uploaded.”

• “What does our home page say right now?”

Your assistant will confirm what it’s about to change before it publishes. Everything it does shows up under History in your admin, so you can always see what changed and put it back.

Good to know

• Changes go live straight away, the same as saving in the admin.

• Your assistant can edit text, photos, services, hours and pages. Design-level changes still go through support.
